During the holidays I went up to Northern Germany close to the Northsea coast and did some MW-DX with a 1x1m frame antenna and a R390 receiver. From 25-28 Dec conditions where gerat, A-index varied between 1 and 3, it cannot get much better! However from 29th onward conditions were not that great, since the A-index went up to 25 and then resided around the 5 mark. Only the strong stations like WRNB, CJYQ made it in. Also, the Ramadan started on 12/31 so many channels are blocked by Arabian stations for a month. I usually listened from 00:00 to 04:00 when some European stations close down. New catches this time (compare with a year ago) are marked with an 'x' Some remarks: For the first time propagation went all the way to Des Moines. 780: ID was hard to understand, sounded like WB.. or WP.. WRNB 1510 & WWKB 1520 relay the same sports network, interestingly WWKB sounds much better in 4 kHz bandwidth (which was needed) than WRNB. Bo-Kristian Lindqvist, Finland put his MW-DX-logs on http://www.sci.fi/~bkl/main.htm It's very interesting to compare what he got and what not, of cause, his loaction is much better for MW-DX. He did not log WRNB 1510, WCBS 880 and CFRB 1010. Apparently those stations beam a little bit southward to Europe? WRNB & CFRB were very strong here. I got the big FCC file on AM stations AMDATA.DAT Does anyone have a little decoder program for it? Why aren't the stations above 1600 kHz in that file?
