I've been an "eBayer" for over a year, and have purchased (and sold) many, many items. With over a Million Items generally available at any given time (in over 1,000 categories), there's a high probability that you'll find what you're looking for. If you pay attention to the "Feedback Profile" you should not have to worry about being "taken". And, quite often you can pick up what you want or need at a nice savings. As with any auction, just don't let your emotions control your bidding - decide what a given item is worth to you and don't exceed that value. Also, be sure to use the "ask the seller a question" feature if you want to know more about a particular item(s) up for bid. Most sellers will respond quickly with an honest response to your query. Unlike a normal auction, you can't pick up an item to look at it so you have to rely on the written description provided by the seller. Pay particular attention to that description and assume nothing other than what's written or what the seller sends you back in an e-mail message.
