WTS (WHERE'S THAT STATION?) RELEASE NOTES ========================================= V1.06 [Released November 1, 2005] Some Cuban stations use the same Callsigns on different frequencies This enhancement modifies the WTS code AND all future MW databases to address this situation. When you lookup a Cuban station, if there is more than one station with the same callsign, a Pop-Up message box will appear notifying you of that fact and how to search for the same Callsign on a different frequency. (Basically, it just requires that you APPEND the desired frequency to the callsign. For example, CMBA currently broadcasts on 540, 710, 970 and 1180 KHz. Inputing CMBA540, CMBA710, CMBA970 or CMBA1180 would return the data for CMBA on the specific frequency involved. The MW database is sorted by callsign, then frequency in ASCENDING order so inputting JUST the callsign CMBA would result in the 540 KHz listing with a pop-up message indicating there were multiple listings of CMBA. SIDE NOTE: I realize that Mexico also uses multiple frequencies with the same callsign ... XE is a good example with a VAST number of frequencies and locations ... all with callsign XE. Because of the large number (of constantly changing) stations involved, I have absolutely **NO** plans to even attempt opening THAT "can of worms" V1.05 [Released June 18, 2004] V1.05 Changes the Frequency display on generated Web Pages from four (4) to three (3) digits for those station transmitting on frequencies below 1000 KHz. i.e. "950" instead of "0950". This is just a minor cosmetic change based user feedback. V1.04 [Released December 2, 2003] ================================= V1.04 updates WTS to properly evaluate the recently changed Canadian Province Codes for Quebec (was QU now QC) and Saskatchewan (was SA now SK). v1.04 properly handles BOTH the old and new codes. v1.04 IS REQUIRED FOR ALL WTS MEDIUM WAVE DATABASES #MW0206 AND HIGHER. ON ANOTHER TOPIC: I'm still seeking help from someone who understands and can help me apply the Directional Antenna Pattern formuli as described in FCC 47 CFR 73.150: http://www.dobe.com/wts/Downloads/CFR73_150.pdf If you can help, please contact me at: wts@dobe.com v1.03 [Released October 26, 2003] ================================= v1.03 fixes a bug that prevented the proper transistion TO/FROM Daylight Savings and Standard Times on the Station Time/Date and Sunrise/Set displays including the appropriate timezone abbreviations such as EDT, EST, PST, PDT, etc. While I think I've plugged all the holes, we'll know for sure when we return to Daylight Savings Time next year. v1.03 also now correctly displays the version number on the WTS title bar. ALL prior versions showed v1.00 regardless of the actual version number. v1.02 [Released August 26, 2003] ================================ v1.02 fixes a few bugs that prevented the WTS generated Web Pages from properly displaying. They're the web pages available from the results screen, by clicking "Web Page", lower left corner, or pressing "W" on your keyboard. Basically I had the web page (HTML coding) looking for images on MY PC rather than your PC. As a programmer, that's a "I can't believe I did that!" type of error. Thanks to Eddie for advising me of the problem. Additionally, I neglected to include some of the necessary images in the distribution package for versions 1.00 and 1.01. The FULL v1.02 setup package now contains those missing images. HOWEVER, if you are only upgrading your WTS executable (WTSRT.EXE) then you will need to download the missing images separately. They can be found on the WTS download page: http://www.dobe.com/wts/download.htm#missing_images v1.01 [Released August 01, 2003] ================================ v1.00 was designed for use with the initial 6,000+ station database (MW0201.TXT) that extended out to a Western UTC time offset of -10 hours. (Hawaii) Since the WTS MW Database now covers the entire Western Hemisphere, (10,700+ stations) it was necessary that WTS be upgraded to cover a UTC time offset of -11 hours. (American Samoa) v1.01 effects that upgrade. However, like v1.00, v1.01 does NOT process *POSITIVE* UTC time offsets correctly in terms of time and date calculations. (i.e. EASTERN Hemisphere locations) Due to the complexity involved in changing the existing coding, there are no plans to address that issue unless a "Pro" version of WTS emerges. v1.00 [Released July 15, 2003] ============================== Initial Public Release WTS (WHERE'S THAT STATION?)
